Phil Barnes serves as executive vice president and director of wealth and trust services, leading a group that recently surpassed $125 million in total assets. Phil fosters an advisory, private-banking client experience complete with comprehensive advice on planning, estate and trust services. He is a 37-year banking veteran, most recently spending 20 years with a regional bank and its predecessors. He has served in a variety of roles spanning management, administration and sales in both Trust and Private Banking.
Phil received a Bachelor of Arts from Covenant College and successfully completed the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware, BAI’s Graduate School of Retail Banking at the University of Wisconsin and the Southeastern Trust School from Campbell University. Additionally he has attended the International School of Lending at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and corporate finance courses in Mergers and Acquisitions at Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Management. Phil has held licenses Series 7 and 66. Active in the communities he serves, Phil is a director of the Chattanooga Estate Planning Council and a member of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville Parent Council.
